Crafts and a Concert

We’ve been laying low here recently. With a week of big storms and now a week of intense heat, the kids and I have spent a lot of time indoors at home or the library.

A few nights ago Mark and I went to see Train in concert. It’s become a tradition to buy tickets for a summer concert as an anniversary gift to each other. We had a great time! I’ve never sweat so much in my life (gross, I know! But I never sweat…it was THAT hot!) but I sang and danced to every song.

I heard this song for the first time at the concert, and now it’s a favorite:

The kids and I have also been doing some crafts during the day.

One day, they drew pictures for their aunts and uncles.

I think they were as excited to take them to the mailbox as they were to make them!

Today, we bought some finger paint. The boys loved it, especially Julian, which is funny because normally he’s not a fan of stuff on his hands.

Tomorrow we’re hosting a lunch cookout for some friends, then headed to a church cookout in the evening. I love summer!
